Dear Friend,
Lowell is writing you and asked me to send a line so here goes.  I have been at home on furlough for last week.  The School Marm is well.  She is teaching near my Father’s so I had an opportunity to see her.  We are having fine times here now I assure you.  Don’t drill any through the holidays.  My health is much better than when you last saw me.  The boys are well generally.  Come see me.  We will convince you soldiering is fun.  Please write and oblige.
