This listing is for the original handwritten letter from Chattanooga Tennessee to Miss Josephine Phillips in Cincinnati Ohio.   It is a PARTIAL LETTER with much on the first page and partial on the back.   2 pieces of archival tape holds the pieces together.
regarding the death of a soldier.
"... I am directed by Colonel Kannerling, to give you the painful intelligence of the death of Lieutenant Theodore Lammers (sp?).   After a long and hard struggle he reports ....  hospital at Chattanooga.   The Colonel wishes me to state to you, that Lieutenant Lamers has into his last mements received the most careful attendance....
