This March 4, 1863 New Hampshire soldier's 4 page letter Ward E. Clark to Miss Jane C Clark Landoff, NH.  Comes with original envelope post marked Old Point Comfort, VA. Talks about how mail is marked Due for postage but because they are in the field they do not have to pay.  We expect to be paid off this week, There is now 4 months due.  There is a report I presume it is true that we are not going to stay here a great while.  Where we shall go we don't know. Some think to N. C. They do not drill us very hard. Only about 4 hours a day. He mentions Frank Carpenter visited from the 13th Regiment.  Etc.      Shipping includes insurance.
