This listing is for the original civil war letter Near City Point, Va, June 19, 1864 from William S. Billman, Company "d", 90th pennsylvania Volunteers (later in the 11th Regiment). Includes envelope addressed to cousin Carrie C. Deppen of Myerstown Lebanon County Pennsylvania, Pa.

"Now we are close on to Richmond and Rebels and our troops worth fighting near
petersburg yesterday & today our troops are fighting now for 46 days.. we cross the James River on a pontoon Bridge with one hundred and one boats under it... a pretty good length to travel over in night time..."
