This is a Union Patriotic cartoon envelope produced during the Civil War. It has John Bull representing the Confederacy trying to ride two horses - one with Union on it and the with Secession. It is captioned "John Bull in his perilous feat of Horsemanship." John Bull has a bale of cotton on his back. This envelope was published by C. Murphy's Son of New York. It is in excellent condition and is 5 & 1/2" by 3".
