    Description

    Cover is addressed to Mrs. S. L. Nye, Hallowell Maine. Written on the outer edge under the stamp is Pt. Lookout, Oct. 6. Has Washington 3 Cent stamp which has been cancelled. Envelope has water damage at the top. Measures 5 7/16 x 3 3/16 inches. NOTE: The only information I could find was Charles Edward Nye (21 Jan 1838 – 22 Dec 1925) was the son of William Nye and Susan L. Sidus of Hallowell, Maine. Charles’ wife was Dorcas L. White (married 16 Nov 1865) Could not find any military record.
