Description

Civil War Letter
Civil War Letter written by Thomas M. Sedwick of Company C, 139th Pennsylvania Infantry.  Written January 19, 1863 by candlelight at his regiment's camp near Frederick, Maryland.  Interesting content about a deal they made with rebel pickets - it was cold so both sides agreed they would have fires (and presumably not shoot at each other!).  See scans for full transcript
