    An original Civil War letter written by a woman named Fanny dated 1861. In one area it looks like she says,.............I have an Uncle who is Commander in the U.S. Navy he is a dear kind Uncle and has already spent near twenty years of his life on the broad ocean our last letter from him informed us that he was to have Command of this frigate Hatteras and expected soon to leave for the gulf of Mexico.........
    I currently have other letters listed that were written by this individual.
    The letter has wear and stain marks.
