    Description

    An original Civil War letter dated 1862. This letter is written by William H. Holden who was in the 10th Illinois Regiment. The cover is included which has a patriotic image. In one area it looks like it says,.....and every thing goes off nearly the same as before, troops are passing through here south ward Rosecrans main army are but a few miles from here. They have....skirmishes in front with the rebs who are supposed to be about 60,000 strong............................       I currently have other items listed that belonged to this individual.
    The letter and cover have wear, stain marks and parts missing.
