Description
An original Civil War letter, which includes a photo that came with the letter. I'm not sure who the photo is of. It just came with the letter. It looks like it is dated May 29, 1863. It looks like it is signed by a soldier in the 19th Kentucky. His writing is very hard to read. In one area it looks like he says,.....we ear a laying rite here in the haber at Viks Burg mary the Rebels can shute in haus regment with the sharp shuters but what duse me goode as the arishman sede.........we have got them surruined an got all the supplies cut of an tha will haft to come out of ther Brest Works an fite us a fare fit................. I think this soldier is making reference to the siege of Vicksburg. The letter has wear and stain marks. The photo has wear.
