    Civil War Letter - Written by Soldier in Company "E" of the 199th Pennsylvania Infantry.
    Civil War soldier letter written during the winter of 1864/1865 by Pvt. Henry Homann Co. E - 199th Pennsylvania Infantry.  At the time of this writing, Homann was in the trenches surrounding Petersburg.  He is caring for a fellow soldier - Henry Ridgway - and writes Ridgeway's wife.  He states that Ridgway is weak and thin, and the efforts he is taking to feed and care for him.
