CIVIL WAR LETTER - November 30th 1963
During the Civil war it was difficult for soldiers to find paper, pencils and writing supplies.
This Union soldier is writing home to his family. The content of the letter is not as interesting as the fact that the letter is written on Confederate States Form 19, which appears to me to be a form used to return or purchase equipment, that a Confederate soldier was issued for the war. An earlier letter from this Union soldier tells how they captured Confederate supplies and these forms were part of the items seized.
This letter is in fair condition with some folds. It is a complete letter and signed.
