Includes a letter written on United States Sanitary Commission / Jefferson Hospital stationary Jeffersonville Indiana July 19th 1864 by a wounded soldier Platt Curtiss(Curtiss was from Dutchess County New York and was wounded in the head in the Battle of Kolb's Farm near Kenesaw Mountain Georgia June 22 1864 - He latter returned too his regiment and fought with Sherman's Army) ; A double sided 3 page letter from Camp at Gordon's Mills near Ringgold Georgia May 4th 1864 concerning long marches through mountains and rebel positions - Signed Platt C. Curtiss Co.1 New York Volunteers ; A single page letter entitled Camp At Snake Creek Gap in the mountains 12 miles south of Dalton Georgia May 12th/64 regarding long marches, fortifications with artillery, destruction of railroads signed Platt C. Curtiss : Letter dated 1864 from Normandy Tenn.- part of the letter describing battle scene with the rebs in retreat and being shot from trees ; Other letters including one written on Fort McHenry Baltimore Md. stationary with lithograph of the fort dated July 12th 1863 from Edmund Platt to his brother James ; 2 letters with original envelopes addressed to Wassaic NY and Mabbetsville NY.
