PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Vintage Mid Century Japanese four-panel Byobu screen featuring beautifully hand-painted oriental green birds set amongst prunus branches & pink and white blossom over a gold and silver leaf background. The intricate foliage is hand-painted over squares of gold and silver leaf that have a wonderful glimmer especially when light is directed onto the piece. Signed and sealed on the bottom right by the artist and set in a black lacquer wood frame with a silk border. The sides have engraved metal campaign-style embellishments. A beautiful Shōwa era piece.
