You are bidding on this original and vintage cover from CONFEDERATE STATES Colonel James Jackson from the FLORENCE area of the 27th Alabama Infantry to his wife Sarah while James was a prisoner of war at Johnsons Island, Ohio during the American Civil War. Letter is missing but the Prisoner's Letter stamp is clear and legible.
The posted newspaper article from the Times Daily of Florence, Alabama, on February 20, 1961, provides more information about Colonel James Jackson and his life before and after his service with the 27th Alabama Infantry and the Confederate States of America. Please feel free to ask questions.
