    Description

    Original Guaranteed Authentic. This is a collection of two letters and two envelopes from the same person, John Beaton. The letters are dated June 1, 1862 and June 22, 1862. They are both written to "Absent Friend." They include, "I must write you a farewell letter for I start for the west the 30 of this month perhaps never to return." He also states, "I received a letter from my brother that is in the war he says he was at Pittsburg landing the time of the big fight and he says the (he) never wants to see another like it he said it took one week to bury the dead and it rained all the time and they have gone to Richmond now."
