[1817 - 1876] Lieutenant Colonel, 7th Virginia Battalion expanded into the 61st Virginia Infantry Regiment. Grew up in the Tidewater region.Attended the University of Virginia. President of the Seaboard and Roanoke Railroad. Married Mary Barraud and lived in Norfolk,Va before the Civil War.Father of Daniel Cary Barraud Wilson,he married Courtney B.Cocke,daughter of General Philip St.George Cocke and St.Julien Ravenel Wilson,killed in the war. His second wife was Sallie Browne Cocke married in 1866,daughter of General Philip St.George Cocke.They had a daughter in 1869,Sally M. Offered here is a handwritten letter signed, dated Richmond, March 6, 1862, 1 page, approx. 7 1/4 x 71/2 in. To R. N. W. Keeling. Content: Your note of the third inst. reached me on yesterday. As the best answer I can give on the subject you call to my attention I send the annexed circular of the Attorney Genl.
